Kevin Van Middlesworth
Founder & CEO
Kevin founded Platinum Group Security (PGS USA) in 1996, establishing the company as a premier provider of security solutions in the United States. With a foundation in Criminal Justice and operational experience gained at his grandfather's security company, Kevin recognized a market need for exceptional security services and built PGS from the ground up. Under his leadership, the company has grown into a national leader, combining innovative operational strategies with a commitment to client-focused service. Kevin remains actively engaged in shaping the company's vision, strategic direction, and organizational culture, while also earning recognition as a respected business leader and philanthropist in South Florida.
Corey Garmon
Chief Operating Officer
Corey joined PGS USA in April 2021, bringing nearly 20 years of security industry experience, including service with the U.S. Department of Naval Intelligence. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership roles including SVP of Business Operations, VP of Integrated Services, Regional VP of Operations, National Director of Operations, and Regional Manager. As COO, Corey directs operations strategy to ensure performance and customer service standards are exceeded across all levels. His leadership drives efficiency, innovation, and a culture of excellence, positioning PGS for accelerated growth.
Kentavious Patman
Chief People Officer
Kentavious leads enterprise-wide People Strategy, Workforce Governance, and Organizational Design at PGS USA. He develops scalable People Operations frameworks supporting national expansion, compliance, and long-term growth. Previously as VP of Human Resources, he modernized HR systems, strengthened investigative protocols, and aligned talent acquisition with operational targets. Kentavious also serves as a Sergeant First Class in the Georgia Army National Guard, holding leadership roles in HR, operations, and civil-military coordination. Recognized nationally for advancing People Operations in private security, he emphasizes governance, workforce development, and leadership accountability as drivers of operational excellence.
Kim Van Middlesworth
Senior Vice President of Finance
Kim serves as SVP of Finance, bringing nearly three decades of experience in the security industry and executive leadership. A graduate of Montclair State University, she began her career in 1997 as a Security Officer at her grandfather's company, Frontier Security, in New Jersey. Through progressive leadership roles, Kim advanced from field operations into finance and ultimately executive management, overseeing financial performance and operational strategy until the company's closure in 2010. Her experience from frontline operations to executive oversight gives her a comprehensive understanding of budgeting, payroll, cost management, and long-term financial planning within the security services sector. At PGS, Kim directs financial governance, fiscal strategy, and scalable infrastructure to support disciplined growth and operational excellence, ensuring transparency and sustainable performance across the organization.
Joey Swatzell
Chief Experience Officer
Joey leads PGS USA's client engagement and strategic partnership efforts as Chief Experience Officer. With a background in security operations and corporate risk management, he brings frontline and enterprise-level expertise. Previously, Joey held leadership roles at Allied Universal and contributed to security and client experience initiatives at Meta. He has overseen large-scale programs, leveraged technology for operational effectiveness, and aligned security priorities with business goals. Joey is committed to building resilient security frameworks that protect people, assets, and reputations while enhancing client relationships.
Michael Butler
Senior Vice President of Guard Services
Michael has over 30 years of security management experience, including corporate security leadership and contracting. He served a decade as a U.S. Army Military Policeman, building operational discipline and leadership foundations. Since joining PGS USA in 2021 to expand into Texas, Michael has overseen state operations and growth. Previously, he held senior positions with major security corporations, managing human resources, training, operations, and compliance. As SVP of Guard Services, he ensures high-quality service delivery and client support.
Steven D. Rotolo
Senior Vice President of Risk Services
Steven brings 33 years of law enforcement and operational leadership to PGS USA. A graduate of the elite FBI National Academy, he dedicated 25 years to the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey Police Department, the nation's largest transportation police force. In senior roles, he oversaw security operations for critical, high-volume assets including the World Trade Center site, the George Washington Bridge, and the Port Authority Bus Terminal. As Chief of Counterterrorism, Steven was responsible for protecting New York City's most sensitive transportation, aviation, maritime, and infrastructure assets against evolving threats, combining strategic oversight with operational precision.
Cameron Underwood
Chief of Staff
Cameron Underwood serves as the Chief of Staff at PGS USA, where he plays a pivotal role in supporting executive leadership and advancing strategic initiatives across the organization. In this role, he works closely with senior leadership to help align operations, communications, and company-wide priorities that drive continued growth and organizational effectiveness.
A graduate of Full Sail University, Cameron began his professional career working with high-profile celebrity clientele, where he developed a strong foundation in client relations, brand management, and operational coordination. This experience shaped his ability to manage complex environments while maintaining a strong focus on service, professionalism, and results.
Cameron joined PGS USA as the company's Social Media Manager, where he quickly distinguished himself through his creativity, leadership, and deep commitment to the company's mission and culture. Prentice H. Bethea Jr.
Vice President of National Services
Prentice is a U.S. Navy Gunner's Mate Veteran and security executive with over 30 years of experience. He spent more than 21 years overseeing security operations for a Fortune 500 media organization, developing policies, training personnel, and managing high-profile teams. His leadership began as an AFROTC Squadron Commander in high school, forming a foundation in discipline and accountability. Prentice has progressed from Security Supervisor to Vice President of National Services, leading multi-state operations with strategic vision. His military experience in naval weapons, small arms, and pyrotechnics informs his mission-focused, integrity-driven leadership.
Mattie Owencroft
Vice President of Risk Services & Intelligence
Mattie leads strategic intelligence and security initiatives at PGS USA, directing operational strategy, risk assessment, and organizational performance. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminology and a Master's degree in International Relations with a specialization in Espionage and Surveillance. She brings experience in the legal field and a strong background in private investigations, with a focus on intelligence analysis and strategic investigations. In her role with a counterterrorism-focused organization, Mattie conducted open-source intelligence (OSINT) analysis to support foreign policy and geopolitical assessments. Having lived and worked across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the United States, she brings a global perspective to complex security, intelligence, and leadership challenges.
Christopher Castillo
Vice President of Client Relations
Christopher has over nine years of experience in client relations, operations coordination, and service oversight across residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties in South Florida. His background spans security services, HVAC operations, property restoration, and prior law enforcement. As Vice President of Client Relations, Christopher is the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations, onboarding, and ongoing communication. He regularly participates in site walks, board meetings, and client check-ins. Bilingual and hands-on, he builds trust and strengthens operational standards while supporting teams on-site.
Kacyn Kapreilian
Vice President of Payroll
Kacyn brings over 25 years of leadership and operations experience, specializing in multi-state payroll processing for more than 1,000 employees. With a strong focus on compliance, accuracy, and thorough documentation, she is recognized for her proactive problem-solving, strong employee relations, and clear communication. Highly organized and solutions-driven, Kacyn is committed to supporting revenue recovery initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency, and contributing meaningfully to the continued success of the organization.
Jarrett Smith
Area Vice President
Jarrett is a seasoned security and operations leader with 30 years of experience in law enforcement, remote monitoring, technology-driven security solutions, and protective services. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, he has held senior management roles including Director, Regional Manager, and General Manager, overseeing large teams, multi-site operations, and mission-critical environments. Jarrett brings extensive expertise across diverse sectors, including major movie studios, Class A commercial properties, logistics and distribution centers, healthcare facilities, and commercial real estate portfolios. He is recognized for driving operational excellence, implementing innovative security technologies, and building high-performance teams that ensure safety, compliance, and exceptional client service.
Craig Shirley
Area Vice President
Craig is Area Vice President for PGS, overseeing multi-site operations across Central and North Florida. As a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he brings expertise in large-scale deployments, contract management, compliance, and client relations. Craig specializes in scalable security programs for commercial, industrial, and educational environments, with particular focus on school security. His leadership emphasizes accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement across operations.
Copeland Atkinson
Director of Risk Services
Copeland brings extensive law enforcement and private security leadership experience to PGS USA. He has served the company for nearly four years in multiple roles, including Operations Manager for Georgia, overseeing personnel, compliance, and client relations. In his current role as Director of Risk Services, Copeland leads risk management initiatives and supports operations across the United States. Prior to joining PGS USA, he served four years as a Patrol Officer with the New Orleans Police Department, gaining frontline experience in public safety and community engagement, including assignment to a task force that strengthened his investigative and operational expertise. His combined public and private sector background drives a focus on professionalism, accountability, and client-centered security solutions.
Dahiana Rivera Nevarez
People Operations Manager
Dahiana holds a master's degree in Human Resources Management and brings experience in recruiting, onboarding, and HR administration. At PGS USA, she supports recruiting initiatives and helps manage HR processes that ensure the company attracts qualified talent while supporting the continued growth of the team. Earlier in her career, while working in retail, she also assisted with store security and loss prevention coverage when needed, giving her valuable exposure to the operational side of the security industry.
Eliezer Jorro
Regional Operations Manager
Eli brings more than two decades of experience in the security industry, beginning his career in 2005. He joined PGS USA in 2015 as a Security Officer, where his professionalism, leadership, and commitment to excellence quickly distinguished him within the organization.
Over the course of his tenure, Eliezer has held several key leadership roles, including Director of Security, Road Captain, Recruiter, and Senior Field Manager. Through these positions, he developed extensive expertise in operations management, team leadership, and client service.
As Operations Manager, Eliezer oversees daily operational activities while continuing to mentor and support security professionals across the organization. His depth of experience, operational insight, and dedication to maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism make him a vital part of the PGS USA leadership team.

Steven Ropizar
Regional Operations Manager
Steven has over 20 years of experience in security operations, IT, and personal protection. He has worked as a computer analyst at the New York Stock Exchange, an ethical hacker, and as ground crew for the Goodyear Blimp across the U.S. Steven also provided private bodyguard services for high-profile clients. In security operations management, he collaborates with teams to identify needs, implement measures that exceed client expectations, and oversee labor efficiency and profitability. His experience combines technical, operational, and protective security expertise.
Angelo Leto
Regional Operations Manager
Angelo currently serves as Regional Operations Manager, where he provides strategic leadership for one of the company's largest financial services accounts. Over the past 18 months in this role, he has been responsible for strategic account oversight, client relations, and operational performance. Prior to advancing into national account management, he spent two and a half years as the company's Talent Acquisition Manager, leading recruitment strategy and workforce development initiatives. Before joining PGS, his background in security included executive protection for high-end venues in South Florida and Las Vegas, Nevada. In tandem with his professional experience, he earned his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Florida International University, further strengthening his foundation in security operations and leadership.
Guillermo Lozano
Regional Operations Manager
Guillermo brings over 16 years of experience in the security industry, including 11 years serving the SWFL community, and is a seasoned Security Manager with a strong background in operational leadership and team development. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Criminology, he brings a comprehensive understanding of security management, personnel oversight, and client-focused service delivery. Known for his steady leadership and commitment to excellence, he is dedicated to maintaining safe environments, strengthening team performance, and ensuring reliable, high-quality security operations.
Mitchell D. Hutchinson
Regional Operations Manager
Mitchell has over 18 years of leadership and management experience in security operations and human resources. He holds a BS in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston–Downtown. As a Client Manager and Director of Operations, he supervised three Operations Managers and twenty Account Managers, led regional performance improvements, increased revenue, and coordinated emergency deployments, including Hurricane Katrina. As a Regional HR Manager, he implemented personnel workflows and led a successful state audit in Las Vegas. He also served as Interim Branch Manager in El Paso and expanded personnel across multiple departments by 75%, creating SOPs, an Employee Handbook, and hiring workflows. Since joining PGS USA in 2022, Mitchell oversees regional operations, focusing on staffing, retention, training, compliance, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Joseph Blaisdell
Regional Operations Manager
Joseph has over 15 years of experience in loss prevention, physical security, and multi-site operations management. As Regional Operations Manager at PGS USA, he oversees South Florida security operations, driving client satisfaction and team performance. Joseph progressed through roles as Operations Manager and Field Manager, gaining expertise in personnel supervision, site management, and operational logistics. Previously, he was Security Manager at Hilton and Loss Prevention Lead at Sears. He holds a BS in Criminal Justice from Keiser University and is known for hands-on leadership, operational awareness, and developing future security leaders.
Rommel Vallecillo
Regional Operations Manager
Rommel is a results-oriented security executive with over 20 years of leadership experience in luxury residential, commercial, and healthcare environments. As South Florida Area VP, he oversees large-scale security portfolios, develops operations leaders, and drives accountability, professionalism, and service excellence. Known for his hands-on leadership, Rommel focuses on mentoring staff, strengthening operational standards, and building long-term client relationships. Bilingual in English and Spanish, he is committed to cultivating secure communities and delivering strategic security solutions that protect people and assets.
Dawn M. Sole
Regional Client Relations Manager
Dawn brings over 20 years of senior-level business development experience, including more than a decade in security services. She has consistently exceeded performance targets, achieving up to 150% of annual quotas and increasing profitability by 15%. Dawn ranked in the Top 5 nationally among 400 security sales managers for three consecutive years and earned the Centurion Club Award. She specializes in developing customized protection programs for high-rise condominiums, commercial properties, and enterprise clients, including risk assessments, staffing models, contract negotiation, and operational oversight. Dawn also received the 2012 INPEX Woman Inventor of the Year Award for innovative operational solutions. She is recognized for combining strategic insight, operational expertise, and relationship-driven leadership to deliver scalable security solutions nationwide.
