PGS USA traces its roots back to 1996, when it was founded as Platinum Group Security. The story began with a determined 19-year-old from New Jersey, Kevin Van Middlesworth, who carried a simple dream, to one day build and own a security company that would not only be recognized within the industry, but also stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the nation’s largest and most established providers. Truly, the American Dream.

After relocating to Florida to pursue a degree in criminal justice, Kevin launched Platinum Group Security in his early 20s. For more than two decades, the company thrived as a regional provider throughout Florida, built on a foundation of integrity, quality, and operational excellence.

In 2020, Kevin boldly took his national vision. In just over five years, he successfully expanded that same proven model across the country, transforming PGS USA into one of the nation’s premier security providers. Today, the company not only competes with industry giants, but does so while remaining true to its original mission, vision, and core values. Proof that it can be done.
